Leave Town.

This is the time of year when the beach pictures start rolling across your social media feed. Or the mountains. Or, you know, Iceland or something. But it often feels like everyone has somewhere to go. But you.

But just because you can’t leave state lines, doesn’t mean you can’t travel the world, for free! Just fire up your library card and put a delicious mental getaway on hold.

Books are a delicious escape. You look studious, even when you are reading mental candy floss. You are working out your brain, even when your mind is drooling over learning how to cook in Italy or lounging in the Hawaiian sun.

If anything has been true this spring, it is that reality has been… intense. It is utterly, 100% ok to lose yourself between the pages of another life somewhere else. It’s ok to opt for a light chick lit novel instead of Serious Literature. It’s ok to geek out over Bill Bryson’s The Body instead of pressing through the pages of the New York Times for a while. Give your brain a break. And your mind an adventure.
