
Thread. It’s underrated. It’s not flashy or beautiful like fabric, or metallicaly sexy with that dangerous air like the scissors. It’s just… there. But without it, our creations fall apart.
The same with our relationships. There are threads that hold them together. Common interests, shared memories, cherished traditions. Sometimes a person can be the thread that holds a group of friends together. Other times it is an institution or a shared history. Thread is strong. Thread connects. But thread can also tangle, or even break.
What are the threads that hold your most cherished relationships together? Shared time spent together intentionally? Shared memories that get repeated and sustained with new experiences together? Shared struggles and a bond of vulnerability and support? In this time of seperation, it may be a good idea to check your thread tension. Is it too loose, in danger of not holding together the bonds it is designed to create? Or too tight, about to snap?
