Savor

Things feeling blah lately? Time is totally squishy. And hot. It’s summer. But nothing is changing. We’re all in a continuous cycle of sameness. The only change is the temperature.

If you are feeling lost in your days, give yourself the gift of mindfulness. Take one moment, one experience each day, and seek to be fully immersed in it. Your morning cup of coffee. Listening to a song. Having a conversation with a loved one. Eating a delicious snack. Tune down your distractions and put your complete attention on that. one. thing. Try to create a solid memory out of it.

How does the coffee taste? Is it too hot? To cold? How is your body sitting in the chair as you drink your coffee. What memories does the smell elicit? How do you feel emotionally as you sip your way through the mug?

Choosing to be mindful can be a very grounding experience. If you’re feeling lost in the slip and slide of days, choosing a moment of mindfulness can be an excellent anchor.
