Do Nothing.

Y’all. This group. You are a bunch of doers. A bunch of can-do optimists who keep the world running on love and sweat equity. It’s a wonderful, amazing, truly miraculous thing. But it can also be exhausting.

Does anyone else struggle with clocking out? Do the what if‘s get in the way of your ability to relax? What if it doesn’t get done? What if someone forgets? What if I stop working and people stop loving me…?

Spoiler Alert. Who you are is not what you do. How well you love is not what you do. You’re worth is not what you do. You bring goodness, beauty, love, and meaning to this world simply by being in it. I dare you – take today and prove it to yourself.

Take a nap. Take a long slow walk and don’t hurry home for fear of what the kids are up to. Order takeaway for dinner with no guilt. Spend tonight watching a marathon of silly TV with no regrets. Wake up tomorrow and realize that you are just as beloved after a day off as you were when you were working yourself to exhaustion.

You matter. Not for what you do, but for who you are. You are so much more than the sum of your accomplishments. Allow yourself the grace you extend to others.
