Call Them.

You know what’s not helpful? Keeping score in friendships. If you find yourself keeping track of who has contacted who, or waiting for someone else to reach out, that is a recipe for resentment. And loneliness.

So many times I find myself waiting for my friends to contact me. I’m too busy and neglectful, or feeling insecure and waiting for them to text first.
If you are feeling lonely, call someone! If a friend pops into your mind, stop right there and drop them a text. There are so many ways to keep in contact with people that sometimes we neglect real relationships, favoring Facebook statuses over true conversations.

In a time of social distance, casual conversations face to face have stopped. If we want real contact, we have to be intentional. Who are you going to reach out to today?
