You are Enough.

Listen to the words on this page. You. Are. Enough. Even without the things you do for others. Without cleaning the bathroom, cooking dinner, or applying make up. You. Are. Enough.

You are enough, even when people don’t like you. You are enough even when your family is driving you crazy. You are enough even when your actions make someone else frustrated, or someone expects more than you can give.

You are enough even if your house our your car or your lifestyle doesn’t measure up to where you thought you could be. You are enough even when your relationships aren’t as happy or as easy as you feel like they ought to be. You are enough even when your hair isn’t fixed, your skin is sagging or wrinkled, or your stomach isn’t flat.

You are enough even if you haven’t made 100 masks, or even 10. You are enough even if you aren’t perfecting the art of baking, adopting a new puppy, or training for a 10 K during this quarantine. You are enough even if you feel like you have failed at the past 8 weeks, your home is a wreck, and you are short tempered with everyone you are around.

You are YOU. Created just as you are, just as you needed to be. You fill a role and a place in this universe that no one else can hold. Our world would be less beautiful without you in it.

Through our whole lives, we have been taught to be sugar, but have you ever tasted a cookie made without salt? It is lacking. Be salt my friends. Unapologetically yourself, in a way that enhances the things you are a part of.

Your post today is spot on for me. I am feeling so incomplete and incompetent as a teacher right now. Your words helped to remind me that I am enough for me and all those 14 year olds that I teach. Thank you!

Needed this so much today, Marissa. If you could only see the absolute wreck we are living in, the state of my work life right now, and see the tangle of my brain right now. It’s so easy to be short with the ones we love, especially when they are the only people you’ve seen for months on end!

    1. We usually have the worst manners for those at home! You are doing SO GREAT with so many challenges right now! A kitchen Reno is overwhelming even in easy times…
